Ubisoft Forward 2023 summary: Everything Announced
This morning, Yves Guillemot’s company presented everything Ubisoft has in store for the next months and years to come.
Ubisoft has had a difficult few months, with some delays and titles that failed to deliver. However, every year is a new promise and the horizon looks promising, with a new Prince of Persia title, an Assassin’s Creed that goes back to the roots, and a Star Wars game, 2023 and 2024 seem promising for the French company.
These are all the announcements of Ubisoft Forward 2023:
Just Dance 2024
Who would have thought that dancing would become one of the first Olympic Esports thanks to Just Dance. And of course, you can’t have a Ubisoft presentation without a dance number, or the announcement of a new Just Dance title.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Although the title was supposed to be released along with Avatar: The Way of the Water, Frontiers of Pandora had to be delayed for a few months. In this presentation, we got a glimpse of more details about the story of this game.
James Cameron, the director of the movie, was on stage to talk about the development and goals of taking players to the western frontier of Pandora. Ditte Deenfeldt, the game’s director, also presented the first-ever gameplay footage of the title showing weapons, biomes, enemies, and more:
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be available on December 7th, 2023.
XDefiant
We moved on to a gameplay reel of Ubisoft’s upcoming shooter, XDefiant, to learn new details about the game and the feedback they have received from players. There will be an open session from June 21-22 on PC, PS5 and Xbox series for more feedback.
The game will have on pre-season 14 maps, 5 factions, 5 modes and 24 weapons. The roadmap presented for Year 1 adds 4 new factions, 12 new maps and new weapons.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
After debuting at the Summer Game Fest presentation, we have a new animated trailer of the upcoming Prince of Persia, showing the new character facing big monsters and using powers. The presentation showed gameplay from the game, showing off abilities as well as the return of turning back time or defying gravity.
The Lost Crown will be released on January 18, 2024, for Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Captain Laswehawk: A Blood Dragon Remix
Adi Shankar, producer of Castlevania anime on Netflix, appeared on stage to announce the second anime produced by Ubisoft, which will be released later this year.
The Division Resurgence
With a new animated trailer, Ubisoft shows the version of The Division coming to mobile in autumn this year.
Skull & Bones
The band Home Free took the stage to perform the Skull & Bones theme. An open beta will be available from August 25-28.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
Rayman is coming to Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope as DLC later this year.
The Crew Motorfest
With a new trailer, Ubisoft showed a bit of The Crew Motorfest, the future of the franchise that will be a “celebration for car lovers”. The title will be released on September 14.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR
Ubisoft presented its first Assassin’s Creed title for VR, Nexus, which will be exclusive to Meta Quest 2 and will put us in the shoes of three characters from the franchise, Kassandra, Connor and Ezio. There is no release date yet.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade
A new look at Codename Jade, the Assassin’s Creed mobile title that will take us to ancient China. A public testing was announced.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
A new trailer and gameplay video of Assassin’s Creed Mirage was also shown, where we could see Basim using his skills as a master assassin in one of his missions.
Star Wars: Outlaws
As expected, we were able to take a look at the gameplay of Star Wars: Outlaws, developed by Massive, and learn a little about the details of the story and characters.
