Ubisoft has unveiled how long it’ll take to finish Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is releasing very soon, and now we know just how long we’ll be able to enjoy the game for. Here’s how much time it takes to complete.
Although we haven’t heard about the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake from a long time - or at least, not any good news - fans of the classic franchise are about to get an entirely new experience in just a few days, as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is soon to release. With a surprising structure and an unexpected genre switch, the series is back as a metroidvania and ready to keep players occupied for quite a long time. Ubisoft has just unveiled just how long the game will last players, and it’s quite a big experience.
How long is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown?
As can be read in an interview from Game Informer with several members of Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio in charge of the game, will take us around 25 hours to complete the game. This is a more than considerable duration for a metroidvania, although as the studio points out, this time may vary depending on how much of a completionist or skilled each player is, obviously.
At another point in the interview, Mounir Radi, director of the game, points out one of the most important influences when developing the game, and it is more than curious. “Maybe you have heard that I am a big fan of fighting games?,” sayd Radi, who confesses that the game was not 2D at the beginning. “They achieve, I think, in the right way, the spectacular aspects of 2D action. I wanted to bring this to the screen.”
“I understand that when talking about certain [fighting] games it can sound like complexity, but this is not that for me,” he continues explaining. “I wanted to take some aspect of the fighting games and make them much more straightforward.”
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is coming on January 18, 2024 to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.
