Ubisoft leaked the Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date by mistake
Assassin’s Creed Shadows, previously known as Codename Red, has had many of its details revealed through leaks, including its release date and DLC plans
It seems like Ubisoft can’t help but get its secrets leaked, but this time it was the company itself that revealed the release date of Assassin’s Creed Shadows by mistake. The French publisher announced a few hours ago that the first cinematic trailer of the title would be shown on Wednesday, May 15 at 9:00 AM (PT), so the respective YouTube video has already been made available to viewers to wait for it to premiere. The fact is that in the video description of some countries, the creators of Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell have also given more information than has been revealed so far, including the fact that the game will be released on November 15. Of course, they have already deleted this detail, but the digital footprint remains and the data reached social media to stay.
Previously known as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, Shadows will take the player to feudal Japan, a time of samurai and ninjas. Although there is no official data, the leaks have confirmed that there will be two protagonists: one male, Yasuke, who will represent the spirit of bushido, and another female, Naoe, more specialized in shinobi techniques. The game will adopt the open-world structure in the style of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, with the same type of role-playing mechanics.
There will be two expansions and a season pass
According to Frax, the dataminer that confirmed the game’s title before it was announced, Shadows will come with a season pass that will include two expansions, an exclusive mission, and in-game currency. If this is confirmed it will cost about $40(each expansion will be priced at $25 each). All this fits with the post-launch plans that Ubisoft usually designs.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be the first game in the saga that forms part of Infinity, a hub that will bring together the different titles of the saga and their contents, so expansions and DLCs will be channeled through this interface. There will also be battle passes, which will be used to obtain new items, while a digital store will be opened with all kinds of items. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, it is planned for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
After this game, Ubisoft is preparing to release Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, set in the time of the Holy Roman Empire.
