Valve confirms Steam Machine summer launch, but pricing is still a mystery
Update:

Valve is still committed to promoting its hardware, and the long-awaited return of the Steam Machine is getting closer and closer. The company announced that its device—which brings PC games into the living room in a highly convenient console-style PC—as well as its VR headset, the Steam Headset, are closer to launch than we expected.

According to a recent blog post, the release window has been set for this summer, following a significant delay; the products were originally scheduled to launch during the first quarter of the year, alongside the already released Steam Controller. The delay was largely due to the high costs of key computer components, such as RAM.

One detail that remains up in the air

However, now that the new release window has been clarified, one question remains: what will the price be? The post makes no mention of this at all. Just last week, Valve announced the return of the Steam Deck to its store, but with a significant price jump ranging from $240 to $300, depending on the model. Considering that the Steam Deck has a starting price of less than $800, it’s not at all far-fetched that the Steam Machine could start at a price close to $1,000. That said, the price increase didn’t stop those interested in getting a Steam Deck from snapping one up, causing the device to sell out again.
