Virtuix Omni One now supports Meta Quest headsets, dropping the need for a dedicated display
Quest owners can now use Virtuix’s premium VR treadmill without buying a proprietary headset.
Virtuix has rolled out a notable update for its Omni One full-body virtual reality treadmill, adding official compatibility with Meta Quest headsets. Through the company’s new “Made for Meta” initiative, the system now works with both the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 2, removing the need for a dedicated, proprietary display.
This change lowers the barrier to entry for the Omni One, as Quest owners can now use their existing headset and controllers with the treadmill. Considering the popularity of Meta’s standalone VR devices, the update significantly broadens the potential user base for Virtuix’s premium hardware.
“Omni One for Quest is a major milestone for VR gaming,” said Jan Goetgeluk, CEO of Virtuix. “Working with Meta to bring full-body movement to the Quest ecosystem creates an incredibly immersive and physically active gaming experience that takes VR to the next level. We’re excited to bring Omni One to millions of Quest users around the world.”
A More Physical Way to Play VR
The Omni One is designed to translate real-world movement directly into virtual space. Its omni-directional base allows players to walk, run, crouch, and strafe in any direction while remaining in a fixed physical area, reducing concerns about colliding with furniture or walls. The result is a more physically demanding VR experience that blends gameplay with light exercise—something Virtuix has emphasized since the product’s original reveal.
According to the company, setup remains relatively simple: users assemble the treadmill, install the Omni app, and pair their Quest headset to begin playing. Despite its specialized nature, the system is intended to fit into a dedicated gaming area rather than requiring an unusually large room.
Priced from $2,595, the Omni One remains a niche product aimed at enthusiasts looking for maximum immersion rather than a mass-market accessory.
