We already have a candidate for the Soullike of 2024, Enotria: The Last Song and its perverse game

It’s been a fantastic year for the Soulslike genre. While it is true that we are still waiting for news on Shadow of Erdtree, the Elden Ring DLC (maybe we will see it at The Game Awards 2023), it is also true that we have been lucky enough to enjoy some highly recommended titles such as Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen, two titles that have set the bar very high in the formula created by From Software.

In 2024, we will continue in the same way, because we haven’t even said goodbye to the current year, and we already have a name to add to our agenda. It’s called Enotria: The Last Song and it’s an action RPG with mechanics similar to Dark Souls that will come to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Below we show you its trailer and everything you need to know about the game.

A soulsklike unlike any other

Normally, we associate the genre with dark fantasy, grim scenarios, and, in short, a setting where we are constantly overwhelmed by the hostility of everything around us. But in Enotria: The Last Song is different, as the title description itself speaks of a world where “the brightest sun casts the darkest shadow.”

“The world has been gripped by the Canovaccio - a twisted eternal play that keeps everything in an unnatural stasis. You, Maskless One, are the only one without a given role and master of your destiny. Defeat the fearsome Authors that created it and free the world from stagnation, by harnessing the power of Ardore,” says the synopsis of the story.

In the Steam page, we can see a little of what awaits us. The character classes are called “roles” and like actors, we can put on masks of the enemies we defeat, we have the power to change the reality of the world in real-time to discover new paths, and in short, both the level design and the combat system seem very similar to From Software titles.

As we said, Enotria: The Last Song has no confirmed release date, except that it will arrive sometime in 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox X|S series.
