What to know before watching Secret Invasion, the new Marvel series on Disney+
Everything you need to know about Secret Invasion, the new Marvel series premiering on Disney+.
It has been no less than eight months since the end of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the last Marvel series on Disney+. Tomorrow we will see the arrival of a new production with the premiere of Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson in the role of Nick Fury, which he has played for 15 years, and which will tell us a story written in the comics by the great Brian Michael Bendis.
The story concerns the invasion of the planet Earth by the Skrull race after their victory in the war against the Kree. Before that, a group of Marvel superheroes travels to the capital of the Skrull empire to warn that they will be ready to resist. However, this group is formed by Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Namor, Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Charles Xavier and Black Bolt, something that probably, and without going into spoilers, will vary in the series, knowing the situation of some of them in the MCU.
Nick Fury plays a special role in the story, accompanied by other characters such as G’iah (Emilia Clarke), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) or Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders again). The series has survived the writers’ strike and, unlike other productions such as Daredevil: Born Again or movies like Blade or Thunderbolts.
How will Secret Invasion be distributed?
What some have called “Marvel’s Andor” because of its espionage theme is also a prequel to The Marvels, starring Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and will reveal Spectrum’s MCU debut. As we said, the series premieres tomorrow, but we will not have it in full from day one, but will add an episode each week to complete the six episodes it consists of. The final episode will premiere on July 26.
