Galactic Battle, Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3, begins later this week. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 2nd, as that’s when the new Star Wars-themed season of Fortnite will kick off. When will the new Fortnite season start? Date and time
Galactic Battle is the new season of Fortnite, and it will arrive on May 2nd, 2025 at 1:30 am ET. This date and time is equivalent to the following in different time zones in the United States:
- 1:30 am ET
- 12:30 am CT
- 10:30 pm PT
Remember, it’s not enough to just log in; to play the new season of Fortnite, we must first connect from this date and time and then download patch 35.00, which adds all the new features. This is done automatically when we start Fortnite, when the game detects that we are trying to access an outdated version.
Once the download is complete, you will also have to wait several hours for Epic Games to complete server maintenance. This period of inactivity can be a few hours, but in more extreme cases, it has been extended to almost a full day. What is the new Fortnite season about?
Fortnite’s new season, called Galactic Battle, is basically a month-long themed event centered around ‘Star Wars.’ In previous years, Fortnite has celebrated Star Wars Day - May 4 - by adding new outfits from the saga to the store and temporarily reintroducing weapons from the franchise, such as lightsabers, into the game. On this occasion, the First Order, led by Emperor Palpatine, has managed to bring a small fleet and a Death Star to Fortnite’s island: it’s up to the heroes to stop the coming annihilation.
This time, Epic Games is going all out with this long-running event that will undoubtedly delight fans of the saga. During the new season, not only will there be changes to the map in the form of new zones, but there will also be a new Battle Pass with new outfits for key Star Wars characters that have not yet arrived in Fortnite, such as Emperor Palpatine, Poe Dameron, or General Grievous.
