When will Hades II come out on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch? This is all we know
Hades 2 just released on Steam in Early Access, but what about consoles? Here’s everything we know about the newest Supergiant Games title.
If there’s anything Supergiant Games knows how to do, is surprise its fans. And that is exactly what happened this past weekend when the studio announced the sudden launch of Hades 2 on Steam through Early Access. But while many fans are already delving deep into the Greek underworld, players on consoles have been left wanting.
The developers have already hinted at the game coming to consoles eventually, just as its predecessor did, but when exactly is that going to happen? Has its launch on consoles been confirmed yet?
Will Hades 2 release on PlayStation , Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch?
While we still don’t have any details, Supergiant Games themselves have confirmed that they plan to release Hades 2 on consoles, PC, and Mac. They confirmed this through the “Frequently Asked Questions” for their game on their official Discord server: “We expect for Hades 2 to eventually be available for PC, Mac, and console platforms (though cannot confirm which platforms yet).”
As it stands right now, there has been no indication of when it might arrive to other platforms, but it’s expected to happen after the title leaves early access and becomes a full release. If you compare it to the previous game, Hades, it seems to be following an extremely similar style of release. That game was exclusive to PC during its early access period, and after some time it released on Nintendo Switch alongside its full build.
Hades 1 didn’t get a release on PlayStation or Xbox consoles until one whole year had passed from its full launch. It’s possible that the studio may try to have a simultaneous launch this time around, but until they confirm so themselves, all we can do is guess.
