Where to watch the Oppenheimer movie: platform and service price

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was an absolute success in theaters last year, and is now a favorite for the awards season. Here’s how to watch it at home.

Oppenheimer

With plenty of Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor (amongst many nominations for the Oscars already), Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has been a complete success ever since it released in theaters last summer. And now it’s time to enjoy it at home, as it’s about to become available to stream.

The historic biopic about the man responsible for the creation of the atomic bomb was one half of the curiously timed and named Barbenheimer, a viral sensation of 2023 that resulted from it and Barbie releasing on the very same day with very opposite audiences rushing to movie theaters around the world. The question on many people’s minds is when will Barbie and Oppenheimer be available on streaming platforms? For Barbie, the question was answered by HBO’s Max streaming service, as the movie was released at the end of the last year. For Oppenheimer we finally have news.

Where to watch Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer is will be available for streaming on Peacock, the streaming service of NBCUniversal, which is part of the parent company that Universal Pictures forms a part of. The movie starring Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer has been announced to begin streaming on said service on February 16, 2024 (in the US).

The Christopher Nolan movie won’t be available on the free version of the service, so if you want to stream the movie you’ll have to subscribe either of the premium tiers available. Two versions of Peacock Premium exist, one supported by ads that costs $6 a month, and another that is mostly ad-free for $12 a month.

If you would rather watch the movie right now, it is available for rent digitally on a variety of services, including Amazon Prime Video. It is available to rent for $6.
