Windows 11 is updated amidst chaos and brings more errors and problems: Microsoft confirms that the setbacks do not end there
The solutions to the initial problem do not stop creating new problems.

Users are experiencing significant difficulties with the June security update for Windows 11, prompting Microsoft to release an emergency patch, which has also led to a new set of issues and bugs.
The original problem of the patch has been linked to the “Print to PDF” function, a daily and essential function to speed up saving documents in this format quickly. Normally it is one of the default options when printing any document, but the bug prevents finding the option in the settings or enabling it from PowerShell. Microsoft tried to fix it with the optional update KB5060829, but this also ended up causing additional bugs.
A series of problems
Since June, three updates have caused problems:
- KB5060842 (June 10) started the bugs
- KB5063060 (June 11) tried to fix them but failed
- KB5060829 (optional) tried to fix the bugs with the PDF, but causes performance issues and firewall crashes.
The KB5060829 update, the latest and optional one, has triggered reports of users reporting that the operating system’s default firewall is working erratically, which could leave the computer naked to an attack (yes, we know that Windows’ default security options are not exactly impassable, but something is less than nothing). Microsoft claims that the firewall bugs are not serious and are due to a new feature still under development, so they will resolve themselves later. Other reports claiming performance problems have had no official response.
In any case, better to avoid installing the optional update KB5060829 and wait for the next Patch Tuesday, in principle next Tuesday, July 8, to see if the Redmond engineers have had better sense. If you have already installed it, have problems, and cannot wait, you can try to revert the update.
