‘Witch Hat Atelier’ Season 2 is happening — and Coco’s story is just beginning

Following a surprising cliffhanger in last week’s season finale, ‘Witch Hat Atelier’ will continue its adventure in the anime with the official announcement that it will have a second season. Coco’s journey is just beginning.

It was announced via the anime’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) that the series produced by Bug Films will return with Ayumu Watanabe as director.

What is ‘Witch Hat Atelier’ about?

If you’re one of those who hasn’t yet seen the adaptation of Kamome Shirahama’s manga, you’re missing out on one of the best anime series of 2026. The story follows Coco, a little girl who lives in a village with her mom and has always had a deep admiration for magic and dreamed of becoming someone who can control it. The magical world she inhabits is divided between wizards and those who cannot control magic, but despite her admiration, she lacks the skills to achieve her dream. However, one day everything changes when she meets the wizard Qifrey, and with that, her magical adventure of struggle and reconciliation begins.

‘Witch Hat Atelier’ stands out because it’s a magical world that hides more than meets the eye, and it treats magic as if it were a complex system of drawings, where its use is limited only to those initiated into a grand conspiracy.

The first season premiered as part of the spring 2026 anime season, and the first season is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll. As of now, there is no release date.
