X-Men ‘97 gets a new poster that reveals episode names and release dates

Disney+ and Marvel Studios have unveiled a curious new poster for X-Men ‘97, their revival sequel series to the original 1992 animated show.

Marvel Studios and Disney+ have released a brand new poster for X-Men ‘97, their upcoming revival of the 1992 animated series, and it comes in a very 90′s fashion.

Designed as the cover for a TV Guide, this new poster not only includes a hero shot of the main members of the titular X-Men in this universe, but also reveals the release dates and names of every episode to come in the show’s first season. We already new the series would directly continue the story told by the original cartoon, but by giving fans a look at the names, we also get a peek at what we could expect from the show.

The list of episode titles (and their respective release date) is as follows:

  • To Me, My X-Men – March 20
  • Mutant Liberation Begins – March 20
  • Fire Made Flesh – March 27
  • Motendo/Lifedeath, Pt. 1 – April 3
  • Remember It – April 10
  • Lifedeath, Pt. 2 – April 17
  • Bright Eyes – April 24
  • Tolerance is Extinction, Pt. 1 – May 1
  • Tolerance is Extinction, Pt. 2 – May 8
  • Tolerance is Extinction, Pt. 3 – May 15

What will X-Men ‘97 be about?

The new show is set to be released from the end of March all the way to the middle of May. The trailer teases the return of the Sentinels, Cyclops as the leader of the X-Men, and Magneto, in all of his long-haired glory, seemingly being the inheritor of everything Charles Xavier worked to build.

However, one specific arc seems to have been hinted at with these episode names: Lifedeath is a story from the Uncanny X-Men comics in which Storm and Forge fall in love after both have lost their powers, leading to even larger implications in the story. However, the rest of the multi-part stories seem to imply that the Brotherhood may be looking to utilize Charles Xavier’s legacy to bring open war to humanity.

‘X-Men ‘97′ is set to premiere on Disney Plus on March 20.
