‘Jurassic World 4’ has a giant lizard expert as its director, who’s also worked on ‘Star Wars’

Gareth Edwards will take the directorial role of the Jurassic World franchise, a role he’s well equipped for after handling Godzilla, Star Wars, and The Creator.

Update:
Jurassic World 4

The next film in the ‘Jurassic World’ franchise scheduled for 2025 now has a confirmed director. After the announcement by Universal Pictures that ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ would close the Jurassic saga, they recently backpedaled and announced a fourth part which already has a director: Gareth Edwards. Yes, the filmmaker who last year triumphed with his science fiction film ‘The Creator’ and that in the past has already been in charge of other blockbusters such as ‘Godzilla’ and the celebrated ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

Thus, ‘Jurassic World 4′ (provisional title) begins to take shape, confirming its director, also counting on David Koepp for its script, co-writer of the first ‘Jurassic Park’ together with Michael Crichton -writer of the novel on which the saga is based- and screenwriter of ‘The Lost World’, its direct sequel.

A director with extensive experience in the field is associated with the project: spectacle cinema and science fiction, elements that will surely apply to this new installment of ‘Jurassic World’ about which absolutely nothing is known, neither at the level of plot nor performers. But after completing a reboot the size of ‘Godzilla’ -giving rise to the current and extremely successful MonsterVerse-, Edwards already has experience in directing digital reptiles.

All this after the refusal of David Leitch, director of the first installment of ‘John Wicknext to Chad Stahelski, in addition to other films such as ‘Deadpool 2′ and the more recent ‘Bullet Train’, to take charge of this new Jurassic delivery.

The production of the new ‘Jurassic World’ movie will start in June, with a planned release in theaters for July 2, 2025, competing directly with other blockbusters like ‘Superman Legacy’ of DC Studios and ‘The Fantastic Four’ of Marvel Studios.
