Xbox Games Showcase won’t have a single trailer that is full CGI, according to Microsoft

Aaron Greenberg from Microsoft has revealed that every first-party exclusive we’ll see during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase will be in-game footage.

This Sunday the 11th at 10:00 a.m. (PT) we’ll be able to enjoy the Xbox Games Showcase, where we will be presented with some of the biggest news from Microsoft for the coming months or years. Forza Motorsport and Starfield are two games that we will see for sure, since in fact both arrive this fall, but there are others like Fable or Hellblade 2 that could also be present, but what is also confirmed is that all the games that we’ll see in charge of Xbox Game Studios will have in-game footage. Or what is the same, no trailer will be solely and exclusively shown with only CGI cinematics.

“None of our first party games in the show are full CG trailers,” said Aaron Greenberg, vice president of Xbox on Twitter, responding to a fan. “Everything is either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics. Each of our trailers will be labeled so it is hopefully clear for our fans.”

Two hours of video games from Xbox

After the Xbox Showcase we’ll be able to watch the Starfield Direct, an exclusive presentation of the Bethesda Softworks game, which promises to be the great launch for Xbox in 2023. We won’t have to wait long to play it, since its launch is still scheduled for September 6, arriving, of course, to Xbox Game Pass from its first day available in stores.

Greenberg has also confirmed that during the total two hours that both shows will last, we will only see games. “Can confirm there will be no movie or TV show trailers in our games show,” he also said on twitter. In this way, Microsoft wants to recover the confidence lost after the failed launch of Redfall, about which Phil Spencer himself made self-criticism and assumed responsibilities the following week, but at the same time, he was “very excited” about the Xbox Showcase this Sunday.
