As promised and as announced by Phil Spencer last week, the Xbox top brass will have a special slot this week to talk about the future of the brand and try to clear up the many rumors currently surrounding Microsoft’s gaming division business model.

The future of Xbox through a very special podcast

Through a Twitter / X post, the official Xbox account revealed that all information will be released through the Official Xbox Podcast on February 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM PT. “Hear from Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty as they share updates on the Xbox business,” the Twitter account also posted about the brand executives who will speak on the matter. For those who may not remember, these are their new positions: Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming; Sarah Bond, president of Xbox; and Matt Booty, president of Game Content and Studios.

Where and when will the podcast about the future of Xbox be?

This “special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast” will be streamed via the Xbox YouTube channel or “wherever you listen to your podcasts.” It will premiere in the United States at the following times:

  • 3:00 PM ET
  • 2:00 PM CT
  • 12:00 PM PT

What is the future of the Xbox division?

Since last week, rumors have been circulating that Xbox could bring its first-party games to other consoles, assuming the arrival of franchises like Halo, Forza, Gears of War, more recent titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Starfield or even upcoming games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Other rumors have mentioned that Microsoft could drop the Xbox brand altogether, while others claim that Xbox consoles could eventually disappear. Although there have been other internal reports suggesting the opposite, it was Phil Spencer himself who took to his social networks last week to officially unveil the “Vision for the future of Xbox.”
