Xenoblade Chronicles 3 reveals release date for future Redeemed expansion in new trailer

With this fourth wave of downloadable content, Monolith’s JRPG will complete its expansion pass plan.

The time has come to mark a new date on the calendar. Monolith and Nintendo have released the trailer for Future Redeemed, the new expansion for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which will be released on April 25th. This paid DLC is part of the Expansion Pass and is part of the fourth wave of downloadable content that, barring a last-minute announcement, will complete the content planned for the video game.

The trailer, which you can find just below this paragraph, comes with a warning that it may contain plot spoilers from the main quest, so if you haven’t completed it yet, you might want to avoid the inevitable spoilers.

The expansion brings together the three video games that make up the trilogy and opens up a new story arc that takes place chronologically before the third installment. All indications are that Shulk and Rex, characters from the first and second games, will make an appearance. Beyond the storyline, Monolith will be introducing new playable mechanics in combat.

New amiibo on the way

Nintendo also announced the release of two new amiibo: the main characters of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Noah and Mio, will be coming soon, although details will be announced later. On the other hand, the Pyra and Mytra pack from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (in its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version) will be released on June 21.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a Nintendo Switch exclusive. The expansion pass can be purchased for $29.99 and includes a lot of additional content. The role-playing game developed by Monolith has been well received by critics and the general public alike, with our colleagues at MeriStation giving it a 9.4 score and mentioning the following in their review:

“From the script to the voice acting, to the direction of the sequences, the game deals with more mature themes than usual with a steady hand. Its cast of protagonists is worthy of earning a place among the genre’s finest.”
