Xenoblade Chronicles 3 pushes forward its release date and unveils epic new trailer

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 brings forward its release date to July 29. Initially expected for September, the third installment of the saga will arrive in midsummer exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The company confirmed the move with an action-packed and epic trailer. You can watch it below:

New combat features in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The trailer focuses on the renewed combat system. Noah, the protagonist, will be able to share battle with six other companions in real time. Each will have a specific role "which allows for diverse strategies," as Nintendo points out in a press release.

We know that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will debut a new Link system, which unlocks powerful forms in combat. We already know the pairings: Noah and Mio, Lanz and Sena, and Eunie and Taion. If you meet certain conditions they will combine to become Ouroboros, a gigantic form with "its own powerful move set." They point out that its appearance "can be the key to winning a battle." In addition, Monolith promises class changes as you progress through the adventure.

"Players will step into the roles of protagonists Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the nations of Keves and Agnus," Nintendo says. "Six characters hailing from those nations join forces to learn the truth behind their conflict, and set their sights for Swordsmarch, a land pierced by a giant sword." The central theme of the journey is "life." It will connect the futures of the two previous games.

We learned about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 last February as part of the first Nintendo Direct of 2022. A brief but concise trailer summoned us to take a new journey through Monolith's open worlds.
