You can now craft one of the rarest items in Minecraft, all thanks to its latest update
An item previously only found in chests inside Nether fortresses, desert pyramids, and dungeons is no longer that rare.
After 15 years, players can finally craft saddles, thanks to Snapshot 25w20a. Previously, saddles were only found in chests inside Nether fortresses, desert pyramids, and dungeons, making them one of the rarest items in Minecraft.

How to craft saddles in Minecraft
With the new update, saddles can be crafted using:
- 3 pieces of leather
- 1 iron ingot
The recipe unlocks once you collect your first piece of leather, allowing you to craft as many saddles as you want.
Other saddle-related changes
The update also introduces new mechanics for saddles:
- Shears can now remove saddles from mobs, making it easier to swap mounts.
- Leash mechanics have been improved, allowing players to connect multiple animals on the same leash.
This change is a game-changer for Minecraft’s mount system, making it easier than ever to tame and ride horses, camels, and pigs. No more digging through dungeons just to find a saddle—now, you can craft your own and explore the world without limitations.
