The anime classic returns to cinemas alongside new Blu-ray and Steelbook editions.

It doesn’t seem like that much time has passed, but ‘Your Name’, directed by Japanese filmmaker Makoto Shinkai, marked the 10th anniversary of its Japanese release on July 3. The film received widespread critical acclaim for its story, animation, music, visuals, and emotional depth, as well as an incredible soundtrack created by the rock band Radwimps, and it will now return to theaters in 4K.
The distributor GKIDS announced the film’s return to theaters via its X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing that screenings will begin on August 14. Along with the return to theaters, a new edition of the film will also be released on both Blu-ray and 4K Steelbook through the GKids store and on Amazon. For now, there are no details yet on which theaters will be showing the film or how long it will remain in theaters, but if you’re interested, you can sign up on the distributor’s website to stay informed about further details as they are released.
