YouTube’s new ad strategy will surprise you: now they know exactly when to show you an ad
Artificial Intelligence, now at the service of YouTube ads.

The way we see ads on YouTube will change soon. And no, we won’t see fewer commercials, but now, thanks to AI, they will now appear at times when people are actually watching.
This is “Peak Points,” the way YouTube will now deliver ads
YouTube unveiled this new ad delivery method last week at its Brandcast event in New York. What the company is planning to do is use Google’s AI tool, Gemini, to deliver ads to viewers when they are most engaged with a video. Through moments called “Peak Points,” the AI will identify the moments in the video where the most views are received so that ads arrive right after those moments of high focus, “where audiences are the most engaged.” The AI is trained to analyze key elements of the video, such as certain frames or transcripts, to identify these moments effectively.

The goal is for Peak Points to enable more ad impressions, allowing creators to earn more money through the platform and enabling advertisers to capture viewers’ attention at the right time.
When will Peak Points arrive on YouTube?
For now, there is no definite date as to when this new strategy will be implemented on YouTube. For now, the video platform mentioned that this AI is currently in a pilot program and is expected to arrive at some point later this year.
How will users receive this new tactic? Although users who do not pay for the premium version of YouTube know that ads are inevitable, it is very likely that viewers may find these interruptions much more frustrating than in the current scheme, especially if this AI is looking for an emotionally charged moment.
