GoldenEye 007: game achievements listed for Xbox

Update: Grant Kirkhope, composer of the original game, has echoed the record via Twitter.

It's been almost 25 years since the release of GoldenEye 007, Rare's mythical FPS based on the Pierce Brosnan movie for Nintendo. The game was never released on any other platform, and that's why all the alarms have gone off today, after a complete list of achievements has appeared registered on True Achievements, the famous achievement aggregator portal for Xbox that acts in a virtually identical way to PSN Profiles, the equivalent where PlayStation trophies are registered.

This website records the lists of achievements for all titles that have just been released or are close to being released. In any case, there is no record of the title in the Microsoft store and, therefore, no one can be sure that its registration is related to a possible announcement. Among the associated achievements we can find some such as completing all the missions in 007 Agent difficulty, as well as several focused on performing different actions in multiplayer games. The list adds up to 55 achievements, for a total of 1,000 Gamescore points.

One of Rare's gems for Nintendo 64

In addition to works such as Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel, Blast Corps, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, or Conker's Bad Fur Day, the studio that is now part of the ranks of Xbox Game Studios unleashed a real phenomenon releasing GoldenEye 007. An FPS based on the movie of the same name starring Pierce Brosnan that stood out, among other things, thanks to the high degree of fidelity it maintained with the film.

From the leap of faith across the dam to the spectacular tank chase through the streets of St. Petersburg, through unforgettable situations such as the train ride with Natalia or the meeting with Alex Trevelyan in the cemetery. Almost all the scenes from the movie are recreated in detail in the title. In addition, the multiplayer aspect allowed up to 4 players to face each other through various game modes. Bond's adventure automatically became a favorite among Nintendo 64 owners.

GoldenEye 007 was released exclusively for Nintendo 64 in the summer of 1997. Since then, it has not come to any other platform, and therefore the only way to play it continues to be through the original cartridge.
