Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett achieves a better performance than Hawkeye
The second episode of the Bounty Hunter is now available on Disney+ and the series will continue to air every week until it reaches its seventh episode.
After the success of The Mandalorian, the first Star Wars live-action series, it remained to be seen how its first spin-off, The Book of Boba Fett, would perform. The fiction starring Temuera Morrison premiered the initial episode last December 29, and although Disney has not offered official figures, Samba TV has dropped an interesting fact: the debut has been better than that of Hawkeye, Marvel Studios' Hawkeye series... at least in the US.
According to data from Samba TV, which measures streaming audiences, The Book of Boba Fett was watched by 1.7 million viewers in the United States in its first five days alone. In percentage terms, the results are 13% higher than Hawkeye, which garnered an audience of 1.5 million. Still, Loki remains the biggest winner, which reached 2.5 million in its premiere.
There is no information on the figures for The Book of Boba Fett in the rest of the world, so it is not possible to know if this upward trend is also reflected in other countries.
First season of seven episodes
Neither Lucasfilm nor Disney+ have announced whether The Book of Boba Fett will extend beyond a first season. Even so, everything seems to indicate that it will not be a limited series. At least that can be inferred from the materials that have come to light, which speak of a Season 1, suggesting more content in the future. We will have to wait for the airing of the next episodes to see if Disney makes any announcement in this regard.
Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett follows the story of the bounty hunter, now reconverted into a criminal leader. As heir to Jabba's empire and after a short-lived reign of Bib Fortuna, Boba will have to do everything in his power to shore up his rule at the head of all the criminal syndicates.
