Pokémon Legends Arceus: 5 tips to begin your adventure

Pokémon Legends Arceus is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Game Freak's new title has given a blow to the table in terms of gameplay through a proposal that combines action-adventure with traditional turn-based combat. A look back that is at the same time a step forward in many things. Therefore, those of you who are about to join the research division of Team Galaxy should know that it is quite easy to make mistakes, so we are going to give you five initial tips; whether you are a beginner or not.

1. Take all the objects you find and increase your bag: everything counts.

Crafting is a unique feature in Pokémon Legends Arceus . Crafting items implies being careful with inventory management. Unlike other installments in the series, in this title, all the objects you find have a use, all of them. So don't hesitate to grind in areas with lots of stones, fruit trees and medicinal plants, especially in the early stages of the adventure, you'll appreciate it.

We also recommend that you go to the main building of Team Galaxy and talk to the character in charge of expanding the space in the satchel. That way, for each expansion you will have space for one (1) more item. Each expansion costs 1,000 Pokédollars more, so you will see a progressive increase in the cost (2,000, 3,000...). In the initial stages, the more space you have, the better: money well invested.

2. Beware of Alpha Pokémon: think super-effective.

Alpha specimens are extremely offensive and have very hostile behavior. In addition to their large size, they are also powerful. Usually, in the expeditions in Hisui, we will find Alpha Pokémon with levels well above ours, so there are two options: run away or face them with super-effective moves.

The battle system of Pokémon Arceus Legends features the mastery of moves, the Styles. A Pokémon can master a move so that it splits into Agile Style and Strong Style; but in this case, the one we are interested in is the Strong Style, which delays the next turn but offers a higher rate of power and facilitates the K.O. of the Alpha Pokémon, which is what we are looking for in the initial stages of the game.

There is no point in trying to capture an Alpha Pokémon at the beginning of the adventure because your Star Rank will be insufficient for them to obey you: try to defeat them. You will get very useful items and a lot of experience.

3. Try to move up in Star Member Rank to obtain advantages.

In this regard, try to capture as many Pokémon as you can and complete their Tasks in the Pokédex to advance the progress level of each species. Professor Laventon will value it and give you more score and money. The higher your score, the faster you will move up in Star Member Rank. This aspect is important because the higher the rank, the higher the level of the Pokémon that can obey you and the more items you can craft.

4. Talk to everyone and don't neglect the Requests

The side quests are called Requests in Pokémon Legends Arceus. Generally, most of them are scattered with icons in Jubilife Village. Some are more stimulating and varied than others; however, what we are interested in are the rewards we get after completing them. Many are finished in a matter of minutes and can give us really useful items for the first hours of adventure -because we don't have enough money, among many other things. So, once you have everything ready in Obsidian Fieldlands (the first area of the game), make a few Requests before leaving for the second: there is a small level jump in wild Pokémon. You need to be well prepared.

5. Mark all your findings on the map: you will be grateful

Pokémon Legends Arceus does not offer maps full of icons, but large, open, unexplored scenarios. When you open the map (- button), you will see that you can use symbols and beacons to gradually map the surroundings of each area. Either berries, alpha Pokémon, minerals, medicinal plants, points of interest that have caught your attention ... Believe us, it is important to go marking everything because the game will not remember your findings: you have to do it yourself. We recommend that you get into the habit of taking note of everything that catches your attention for the future, when you retrace your steps on subsequent expeditions.
