Obi-Wan Kenobi surprises with its first official images

Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi shows the first official images to the public. Ewan McGregor returns to wield the lightsaber as one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars universe. Remember that its premiere is scheduled for May 25 as part of the subscription.

Obi-Wan unleashed in his first images

Entertainment Weekly has been the chosen media for this exclusive first look. There are eight images that preview some of the new faces that will be joining McGregor in the cast.

One of them is the Inquisitor Reva, played by Moses Ingram, who fulfills her mission in search of Jedi for the Empire. Deborah Chow and Joby Harold, director and writer of the series, reveal that Reva's ambition will be her main motivation for hunting them down. On where he stands alongside Darth Vader, Ingram reveals that Reva "share a common dark-side goal" and that they are "on the same team."

Ewan McGregor also took the opportunity to share what image of Obi-Wan Kenobi will be carried over in the series: "We find Obi-Wan at the beginning of our story rather broken, and faithless, and beaten, somewhat given up.” He won't be the only familiar character to appear. Uncle Owen will return to the forefront played by Joel Edgerton.

The last brushstroke on the series falls on the planet Daiyu, an unseen scenario to which Obi-Wan will travel. "Sort of has a Hong Kong feel to it," Harold reveals. "It's got a graffiti-ridden nightlife, and is kind of edgy. It's just got a different lane and a different feeling," he concludes.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is shaping up on Disney's calendar as one of its big releases for 2022. What surprises are in store for us? After The Book of Boba Fett, is clear that Lucasfilm want to target lifelong fans.
