Are you ready for tomorrow's graphics? Try this free Unreal Engine 5 demo

Unreal Engine 5 continues to prove its technical potential. Epic Games' new version of their graphics engine showed its muscle with Matrix Awakens, but some users continue to help the community delve deeper into it. We are referring to EzBench Benchmark, a free demo available on Steam that will put your computer to the test.

Extheory AS, the developer behind this application, points out that this tool allows you to try out the "next-generation graphics" in full detail. Its formula consists of textures that reach 8K resolutions, cinema-quality assets and ray tracing. All of this running on your computer in real-time, no trick or gimmick.

The current version includes a stylized scene of a fantasy island,” reveals in its official description. “In the future we plan to add photorealistic scenes showcasing the true graphical capabilities of the engine. The current scene is a stress test rather than a showcase of the engine.” Its creator notes right now the benchmark is "a stress test rather than a showcase of the engine." "This test will make your RTX 3090 sweat," he concludes.

What requirements do you need to run it on your PC?

Minimum Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel 7th generation or equivalent
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • GPU: GTX 1080 (or AMD equivalent)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 25 GB of available space
  • Additional notes: 8 GB of VRAM recommended

Recommended Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • Processor: 10th generation Intel or equivalent
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • GPU: GTX 3000 series (or AMD equivalent)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 25 GB of available space
  • Additional notes: 8 GB of VRAM recommended

In the requirements, they explain that EzBench Benchmark can run at lower specs, but don't expect "stable, fluid frames" even meeting the minimums. "This software tests the limits of your GPU, Memory and CPU. In particular our "Extreme Mode" will cause extreme stress and high thermals on most chipsets."
