Hogwarts Legacy announces a delay and magic will have to wait till 2023

Harry Potter fans will have to be patient and wait a little longer than expected, as the long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy has confirmed its delay and will finally be released on February 10, 2023 (originally, its arrival was scheduled for Christmas this year). "The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience," says its responsible studio in a brief statement shared on its social media.

Role-playing, action and lots of magic

WB Games Avalanche has opted for an adventure that brings together exploration, action and RPG elements, set in an open world that is not only limited to Hogwarts; we can explore different locations around it such as the town of Hogsmeade or the Forbidden Forest. The protagonist, a student of magic that we can create in our image and likeness thanks to a character editor, will embark on "a dangerous adventure never told to discover a hidden truth of the magical world". The decisions we make will be influential in the development of the player's story.

During the last few weeks, we have brought you new details about the game, such as all the spells we will have at our disposal (Lumo, Protego, Petrificus Totalus and many more). In addition, in the case of PS5, the studio confirmed that they have gone all out to take full advantage of the DualSense and its main features such as adaptive triggers and haptic vibration. For example, the vibration will be stronger on the right side of the controller, as it will be the extremity with which the character will cast magic spells. We have also had the opportunity to see what the uniforms of each house look like.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on February 10, 2023. The release date for the Nintendo Switch version will be announced at a later date.
