PlayStation Plus will be free for everyone this weekend
Sony is holding a free weekend of PS Plus to let everyone join multiplayer online in every title on the console, without restrictions.
The Free Multiplayer Weekend offer is back, as Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today through a press release and its social media. Every player on PS4 and PS5 will get the chance to join the multiplayer aspect of PlayStation Plus, at least for a short limited time. It’ll happen this very weekend, specifically on December 10 and 11.
This offer allows you to join the multiplayer component of any game you own that has one. However, you’re not able to make use of the other PS Plus benefits, such as the monthly free titles subscribers are given access to. Additionally, free-to-play titles like Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 or Fortnite do not require any additional subscription to be played, so the online component in these cases is always open to every player.
PS Plus December’s free games
For those subscribed to PS Plus, you already have the free games of December available to claim. At the end of year, we get Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a remaster of the original trilogy that gives you the opportunity to experience Commander Shepard's epic space opera in modern systems, with upgraded visuals and performance.
Almost every single piece of DLC and extra content that was previously released for the games is included, except for the multiplayer. BioWare is currently working not only on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, but also on the next chapter in the Mass Effect saga. It might be a good moment to play the classics to ease the long wait.
Biomutant is another one of the free games this month, a title published by THQ Nordic that wasn’t very well received by the critics, even when it was launched on new generation consoles with upgrades. The last one on the list is Divine Knockout for PS4 and PS5.
