Xbox is coming back to Los Angeles for E3 2023
The company has announced that they intend to show off everything coming from their studios to Xbox consoles and PC in an in-person event.
The future of the video game expo is uncertain, but the ESA announced that E3 would be back in 2023 after being canceled last year. This time, it’s going to be a full fledged in-person event, and everything seems to point towards Xbox performing their traditional presentation at the event, or at least that’s what’s been suggested in a post by Xbox Wire, the platform’s official blog:
“As we announced previously, in order to dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, a standalone show is in the works. In addition to this, our teams are working hard and look forward to sharing even more of what is next for our fans when we return to Los Angeles for our yearly Showcase this summer.”
E3 2023 is slated to take place on June 13-16.
Starfield will get its own event
Those of you waiting on news about Starfield during the Developer_Direct found out that they’d have to stay in the dark for a bit more. Bethesda and Xbox revealed that their highly anticipated new IP would get its own time in a special showcase in the coming months.
In a separate press release, the companies explained that they want to provide a deeper dive into Starfield than what’s possible in a multi-game event, so they’re preparing an independent showcase for the title. This game is a open-world space exploring RPG, created by the developers of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, so everyone is expecting something incredibly huge. The ambitious title was originally planned to release on November 2022, but the studio chose to delay it to give themselves more time.
Starfield will now release at some point of 2023 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Just like Redfall, Microsoft has chosen not to publish the game on Sony hardware. On the other hand, as is the case with every first party game, it will be available on day 1 on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
The Elder Scrolls VI is still in pre-production, and until Starfield launches off into the vastness of space it’s development won’t really begin.
