The Los Angeles Dodgers are feeling the pressure to reinforce their pitching rotation and a bullpen riddled with injuries, and they’re reportedly on the hunt for a new player ahead of the MLB trade deadline, according to a report by Ken Rosenthal in The Athletic.

Who’s out for the Dodgers?

Among the notable absences are Evan Phillips, who is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery; Brusdar Graterol, still recovering from shoulder surgery; and Michael Kopech, not expected to return until late August following knee surgery.

Heading into the All-Star break, the Dodgers’ bullpen ranked 16th in FIP, 24th in ERA, and averaged 22 home runs allowed per nine innings – numbers that highlight the urgency for reinforcements.

It’s worth noting that the California club spent a total of $107 million last offseason, bringing in free-agent relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates, and re-signing Blake Treinen.

So far, Tanner Scott has held a 4.09 ERA, Kirby Yates continues to raise doubts in the rotation, and Blake Treinen has made just eight appearances this season due to a forearm strain.
