Aaron Boone’s Yankees future clearer after World Series loss to Dodgers
The first accusations of not being able to win the World Series began to emerge in the Bronx Bombers' entourage.
The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed the 2024 World Series title in Game 5, defeating the New York Yankees 7-6 at Yankee Stadium to secure their eighth championship in franchise history.
Boone with Yankees till 2025
In the Bronx Bombers' camp, the first scapegoats have started to emerge for their failure to clinch the title, with Yankees manager Aaron Boone’s name prominent among those under scrutiny.
Amid a sea of criticism, however, it has been revealed by Andy Martino that Boone is set to return for an eighth season in 2025. Despite capturing their first American League championship since 2009, the ultimate goal and expectation remained winning the World Series.
The Yankees hold an option on Boone’s contract.
Among his merits is having led the Yankees to the playoffs in six of his seven seasons, with a regular-season record of 603-429 and a postseason mark of 22-22. His regular-season win percentage of .584 ranks as the eighth highest in the team’s storied history.
