Bad Bunny launched a new sports agency and already has MLB talent signed. Who are they?

If it seems like more and more celebrities are starting to enter the business of sports, that’s probably because that’s exactly what’s currently happening.

The Puerto Rican rapper and singer is the latest artist to make the jump into the business side of the sporting world, with the launch of a new sports agency. Of course, the question now is whether he can be as successful in this new venture as he has been on stage.

Bad Bunny launches sports agency

According to reports, Bad Bunny whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio has launched a sports agency with Rimas Entertainment CEO, Noah Assad, and executive Jonathan Miranda. The artist who is represented by Rimas will also be joined by MLB agent William Arroyo who has helped to sign a collection of players with MLB experience. It is understood that MLB Hall of Fame inductee, Iván Rodríguez, will serve as an ambassador for the company.

Who are the players signed to Bad Bunny’s new agency?

Among the players that have been signed to Ocasio’s new agency are San Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores, Toronto Blue Jays infielder Santiago Espinal and Colorado Rockies outfielder Yonathan Daza. Alongside them, are a handful of high-profile prospects including Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Diego Cartaya and Giants shortstop Marco Luciano. Cartaya is currently ranked among the top-20 prospects in baseball. Where Luciano is concerned, he sits just behind Cartaya.

Bad Bunny’s isn’t just following a trend

Though in recent times, we have seen the likes of Kanye West with DONDA Sports and Jay-Z with Roc Nation Sports, which subsequently signed New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and WNBA star Skylar Diggins-Smith, it’s worth noting that the 29-year-old Puerto Rican has a well-documented love affair with sports. Frequently seen at sporting events, he even played in the NBA All-Star celebrity game back in 2020 and did the same in MLB’s version as recently as last year. Also, who could forget his several appearances in the WWE which saw him actually win a match at Wrestlemania 37. Ultimately, it would appear that he’s got both the passion and the team behind him, which at least means he’s off to a decent start.
