On Wednesday, the Seattle Mariners clinched the AL West title for the first time since 2001 after Raleigh hit his 60th homerun, and he was pretty excited.

Update:

The Seattle Mariners clinched the AL West title for the first time since 2001, earning their fourth division championship in franchise history. They secured the title with a 9-2 win over the Colorado Rockies, highlighted by Cal Raleigh hitting his 59th and 60th home runs of the season, making him the seventh player in MLB history to reach 60 homers in a season.

You could say that he was pretty thrilled.

When the game was over, Raleigh spoke to a reporter on the sideline. She told him that when she spoke to the team the night before, the overall message was that there’s still work to do. He responded by saying this:

“I think most people heard what I said last night - might as well win the whole f***ing thing!”

The crowd erupted in cheers as the reporter groaned about the uncensored swear word, calling Raleigh “naughty”.

Seattle overcame a tight race with the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, boosted by a crucial road sweep of Houston. Key contributors included Raleigh, Eugenio Suárez, Josh Naylor, and young ace Bryan Woo.

This marks Seattle’s fourth postseason appearance in 26 years, and while they still have four regular-season games left, they are poised for a strong playoff run. The Mariners are one of just five MLB teams that has never won a World Series, and the only team in the American League that’s never appeared in one. This time around - you heard Raleigh - they’re looking to win it all.
