The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers will face off in the 2024 World Series, and one of the most important players in all of Major League Baseball is Aaron Judge, the outfielder for the “Bronx Bombers.” He will likely be a key figure in their quest to win the title.

More about the World Series:

Is Judge saving himself for World Series?

Unfortunately for fans of the Yankees, though, Judge has struggled during the postseason. His batting average dropped from .322 in the regular season to .161, with just five hits in 31 at-bats during the Division Series against the Kansas City Royals and the Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians.

Judge, who led the regular season with 58 home runs, has only hit two homers in nine playoff games. During the regular season, he averaged a home run every 2.7 games, but in the postseason, that number has increased to every 4.5 games.

Despite his struggles, opposing pitchers still respect Aaron Judge due to his plate discipline. The Yankees' outfielder averages 4.172 pitches per at-bat. Additionally, he has drawn seven walks, one of which was intentional. Out of his 41 plate appearances in the postseason, Judge has struck out 13 times.

A ray of hope for Judge

Although Judge hasn’t performed at his best, there is a glimmer of hope for him in the World Series. His performance improved from the Division Series to the Championship Series, which could be a sign of what fans might expect in the World Series.

Against Cleveland, Judge managed to score six runs, and two of his three hits against the Guardians were home runs. This upward trend could bode well for Judge as he looks to regain his form on baseball’s biggest stage.
