Dodgers blitz Mets in Game 1
Jack Flaherty was impressive on the mound allowing just two hits and six strikeouts in the seven innings as the Dodgers made light work of the Mets.
The Los Angeles Dodgers had little trouble as they defeated the New York Mets 9-0 in the first game of the National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium.
With the shutout on Sunday night, the California team equaled the Baltimore Orioles’ record set in 1966 of 33 consecutive scoreless innings in the MLB playoffs.
This particular record originates from Game 3 (they won 8-0 and 2-0, respectively, in Games 4 and 5) of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres.

Starting pitcher Jack Flaherty was in fine form with the 28-year-old allowing just two hits and six strikeouts in the seven innings he was on the mound with fellow pitchers Daniel Hudson and Ben Casparius completing the evening denying the Mets from scoring a single run.
The Dodgers’ batsmen were also in devastating form with Tommy Edman, Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts all securing runs as part of the historic victory.
