Update:

The World Series is upon us, and history is on the line for both sides. After two sensational performances in the previous rounds, both the Blue Jays and the Dodgers come into Game 1 of the elite series in fine form.

Tension is high as the battle commences in Toronto, where fans will be looking to play their part in an atmosphere full of nerves and excitement.

Who will start for the Dodgers and the Blue Jays in Game 1?

The Dodgers will be led by Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, with Will Smith moving up to the three-hole and Teoscar Hernández down to the sixth spot. The Blue Jays’ lineup features George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., with Daulton Varsho patrolling centre field.

On the mound for the Dodgers is two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell. Despite a limited regular season, Snell has been exceptional in the postseason, boasting a 3-0 record with a 0.86 ERA over 21 innings.

Opposing him is rookie Trey Yesavage for the Blue Jays. Having made his MLB debut in September, Yesavage has quickly become a key figure in Toronto’s rotation. In the postseason, he holds a 2-1 record with a 4.20 ERA in three starts. Notably, he delivered a dominant performance in Game 2 of the ALDS, pitching 5.1 hitless innings and striking out 11.
