Héctor Neris, a relief pitcher from the Dominican Republic, is now a free agent in Major League Baseball after choosing not to renew his contract with the Houston Astros. He declined the option to stay and play for the 2024 season, which would have earned him $8.5 million. Instead, he decided to opt-out and receive a million dollars as part of his exit clause.

During last season, Neris had an outstanding record of 6-3 with a 1.71 ERA, 77 strikeouts, 31 walks, and a 1.05 WHIP in 68.1 innings. He is expected to seek a multi-year contract, and his current market value is $7.6 million. This makes him a desirable asset for any team interested in his services.

Neris was part of the Houston Astros team that won the 2022 World Series. He has over 10 years of experience in the MLB, having played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros.
