Los Angeles Dodgers pick up Miguel Rojas from the Marlins
The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Venezuelan shortstop Miguel Rojas from the Miami Marlins in exchange for infielder Jacob Amaya
One the back of losing shortstop Trea Turner to the Philadelphia Phillies for 11 years and $300 million in free agency, the Los Angeles Dodgers needed to cover the position badly.

The blues feel that they see in Miguel Rojas the ideal piece to complete their set, making up for the loss.
Rojas will turn 34 before the season starts and is entering the final season of a two-year, $10 million extension. In Rojas, the Dodgers get their hands on an elite defensive shortstop, a two-time Gold Glove finalist who ranks in the top two percent of outs above average according to Statcast. Known as a respected clubhouse leader, the Dodgers will lean on that element of his character above all others.

Experienced Shortstop
Miguel Rojas hit .236 last season, which is respectable enough, especially when considering that it was his lowest average in his time with Miami. Committing only seven errors in 531 plays at shortstop last season, Rojas was a National League Gold Glove finalist.
The Venezuelan has managed to play in just two postseason games: one during his previous sojourn with the Dodgers against St. Louis Cardinals in the 2014 National League Division Series, and then again in the 2020 NLDS where the Marlins faced the Atlanta Braves.
