Mexico vs Canada: preview

Whoever wins is in. It’s that simple. It’s more complicated for the losing team, depending on what happens later in the USA vs Colombia game. So, with a win, a place in the quarter finals is secured for either Canada and Mexico. Both teams have two victories and a single loss, but so does the United States. So if the US wins their game against Colombia, they will join either Mexico or Canada. If the US loses, the situation gets a little more complicated because we would have three teams at 2-2.

So, to keep things simple, let’s focus on this game in which Canada and Mexico are going to go all out to make sure to grab a spot in quarter finals. The pitching duel will be between RHP José Urquidy for Mexico, who currently pitches for the Houston Astros and LHP Rob Zastryzny for Canada, who plays in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

In the last Baseball World Classic in 2017 things got heated between these two teams when they faced off. Canada needed to score a lot of runs to move to the quarterfinals and things got heated when Canada tried to score even even more runs while winning 9-3 in the final inning.

Let’s hope nothing like that happens today and may the best team win. Tension will be running high for both teams as a lot is on the line so tune in and follow the live action with us here at AS.com.
