Mexico vs U.S.A.: The lay of the land

In what will be the second game of Pool C, we’ve got a titanic clash between Mexico and defending champion United States. With the kind of history that exists between the two nations, we don’t need to tell you that this is a grudge match. Truth be told, tickets for the game are sold and have been for a while now, which is surprising considering this is baseball and not soccer which is the sport between the two nations which normally dominates headlines.

Of course, this game has been a long time in coming with the WBC having been delayed for two years due to the worldwide pandemic. Where the rosters are concerned, what adds to the flavor of this pot is the fact that both teams are largely made up of MLB players. Indeed, the U.S.A. is completely made up of major-leaguers, meaning this is more or less guaranteed to be a high-quality game duel. Then there are the fans, with the Mexican faithful known to travel well north of the border to support their team. With that said, you can expect to see a whole lot of red, white and green when the sides meet on Sunday night. Don’t miss it!
