MLB 2025 playoffs update: These teams have clinched their spots

With only three games remaining in the 2025 MLB regular season, the playoff race is heating up. Some teams are still battling for the final postseason spots, while others already know their fate, either heading to October baseball or ending their season early.

As of now, eight teams have secured playoff berths: three from the American League and five from the National League. There are four more places still up for grabs.

American League playoff qualifiers

National League playoff qualifiers

• Chicago Cubs | 89-70 | NL Central runners-up
• San Diego Padres | 87-72 | NL West runners-up
