Estados Unidos Update:

Adrián Beltré was a Major League legend after a 21-year career that earned him a place in the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. He spent his final eight seasons with the Texas Rangers, and the franchise has now chosen to honor his legacy with a bronze statue depicting his iconic home run swing with one knee on the ground.

Where is the Adrián Beltré statue?

The statue has been placed at the northeast entrance of Globe Life Field in Arlington. During his time with the Rangers, Beltré was a three-time All-Star, won two Gold Gloves, two Silver Slugger awards, and was part of the team that lost the 2011 World Series to the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Santo Domingo native played 1,098 games with Texas, posting a .304 batting average with 1,277 hits in 4,194 regular season at-bats. He hit 199 of his career 477 home runs in a Rangers uniform.

Other Rangers greats immortalized in bronze include pitcher Nolan Ryan, catcher Iván Rodríguez, and a joint statue of Bengie Molina with Neftalí Feliz.

Who created the Beltré statue?

The bronze piece was crafted by Texas artist Mike Tabor, who describes himself as a Western expressionist. He had only 75 days to complete the work, which pays tribute to Beltré’s impact with the Rangers.

According to FWTX, Tabor studied at Tarleton State University, graduating in 1980, and later spent three decades teaching art at Granbury High School in Texas.
