Update:

The Philadelphia Phillies consolidated their position at the top of the National League East as they swatted aside the Atlanta Braves in the first game of the series with an emphatic 19-4 win.

The main highlight of the game was Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber, who had a historic night. He hit four home runs, becoming the fourth Phillies player and the 21st player in MLB history to accomplish the feat. His four home runs also gave him a Phillies franchise record of nine runs batted in (RBIs) for a single game.

The Ohio native becomes only the 21st player ever in MLB history to achieve this feat with the first player ever to record four HR’s in a single game being Cleveland Indians player Ricky Colavito in 1959.

A separate record exists for the most home runs by a team in a single game. The MLB record for team home runs in one game is 10, held by the Toronto Blue Jays on September 14, 1987.
