Japanese sensation, Shohei Ohtani, is one of the most followed players in Major League Baseball history.

Reports indicate that he is on the verge of signing the biggest contract ever, which could reach $600 million.

The Los Angeles Angels have been adamant that their star player will not be traded before the deadline, although they could lose him for nothing in free agency.

“It's something I can't control; I try not to think about it. I'm just focused on the season and not thinking about the rumors of a change”, said the Japanese for USA Today.

In addition to saying he is intent on getting as many wins with his current team in the American League West.

“I will do my best to win as many games as possible; all those trade reports are lies. No one should pay attention to that.”

The Japanese pitcher/homerrun specialist has had a fantastic first half of the season and was named Player of the Month in June posting a .394 average, 1.444 OPS, 15 home runs and 29 RBIs.

Heading to the All-Star Break he had a .302/.387/.663 offensive line, leading the AL in triples (6), home runs (32), slugging percentage (.663), OPS (1.050), Adjusted OPS (182) and total bases (226).

On the mound, he has a stunning 3.32 ERA, 132 strikeouts and a 1,096 WHIP in 100 innings of work.
