Teoscar Hernández helped Andy Pages
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ young Cuban prospect has a much-improved bat lately and it is largely thanks to help from a team mate.
Andy Pages singled in his first MLB at-bat during his debut last week with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The young Cuban prospect was not satisfied, however, as that was as good as it would get. He struck out six times.
Pages decided to ask his teammates and the coaching staff for help and advice. One of the team mates who stepped up was Teoscar Hernández. The Dominican slugger has been working a lot with Andy Pages over recent days and the results are already starting to come in.
Andy Pages hit his first home run
In Sunday’s game, Pages hit his first major league home run in the Dodgers’ 10-0 routing of the New York Mets. Pages finished with two hits and two runs in four at-bats to conclude his best performance to date.
“It was something mechanical that I was working on these last few days and Teoscar Hernández was the one who helped me the most. My teammates have much more experience and know how pitchers work. But overall, they have been helping me a lot,” Pages added.
The rookie is trying to improve and knows that he has to listen to the advice he receives from the coaches and his teammates. “I’m trying to improve every day. I am listening to the advice they give me and making adjustments,” said Pages.
