Texas Rangers: World Series and Shohei Ohtani links
The MLB star will be a free agent at the end of the current campaign and speculation about his next destination has not stopped.
Despite Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels failing to reach the postseason in the current campaign, the team’s primary figure continues to make headlines in preparation for the upcoming season. As you will be more than aware, the Japanese baseball star will soon enter free agency allowing him to negotiate his next destination in Major League Baseball or choose to stay with the California franchise. And as rumours continue to swirl, Ohtani has been strongly linked to one of the teams competing in this year’s World Series, the Texas Rangers, who are facing off against the Arizona Diamondbacks
Despite his elbow operation, Ohtani is still expected to receive a contract in the range of approximately 500-600 million dollars.
Shohei Ohtani and his three MLB options
According to a report by Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Ohtani’s preferred destination is the Texas Rangers, followed by the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The same report, however, hedges its bets by also mentioning that the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, and the Angels themselves are still being considered as potential options.
