The series between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox is more alive than ever, after the Bronx Bombers pulled off a 4–3 victory over their historic rivals in Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series in the 2025 MLB playoffs.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. scored the decisive run for the Pinstripes, racing home from first base on a go-ahead RBI single by catcher Austin Wells in the eighth inning.

The winner of the Yankees–Red Sox series will advance to face the Toronto Blue Jays, champions of the AL East, in the Division Series — a best-of-five showdown set to begin next Saturday.
On offense, Ben Rice provided an early cushion with a two-run homer, while Aaron Judge added an RBI single. On the mound, closer David Bednar recorded three outs to notch his first career postseason save. For Boston, Trevor Story carried the load with a home run and all three of the team’s RBIs.
