Clayton Kershaw’s future remains unclear and perhaps he is the only one who has any idea about where he will play in 2024. What is certain is that the future Hall of Famer (confirmed two weeks ago) that at the moment he is not considering retirement and he is still fully motivated to continue pitching in the Major Leagues.

Kershaw ended his contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers this winter after 16 seasons in Chavez Ravine and is currently a free agent. The left pitcher underwent surgery on his left shoulder in November - an injury that will keep him away from the mound until the summer of 2024. That is one of the reasons why he has not made a decision about his future, because for now, he is only thinking about recovering.

Rangers or Dodgers

During the recent meetings in Nashville, Los Angeles executives confirmed that Kershaw has the doors open if he wishes to return next season. What the left-handed pitcher has done for the institution has allowed him to be the master of his own destiny and to leave or return whenever he wants.

Another real option for Kershaw is to put his history in Los Angeles aside and start over in his home state of Texas. According to The Athletic, the Rangers are insisting that the future Major League Baseball Hall of Famer finish his career in Texas.

Although the Rangers will be the defending champions when the 2024 season begins, the Dodgers are the great candidates to win the World Series due to the signings they have made in this free agency. The hiring of Shohei Ohtani and Yhosinobu Yamamoto could influence Kershaw’s return to close a cycle by lifting a new trophy.
