The Los Angeles Dodgers were, without any doubt, the team that turned the market upside down during the current free agency in Major League Baseball, by signing two of the biggest available stars.

First they acquired the services of two-way player Shohei Ohtani, a player with qualities rarely seen in the entire history of the MLB. Ohtani reached free agency after ending his contract with the Los Angeles Angels. He signed with the Dodgers on a 10-year deal in exchange for $700 million at the beginning of December. Obviously that the figure will be deferred but at the end of the day, the entire amount has been committed.

Glasnow on board

The next incorporation was that of pitcher Tyler Glasnow, who arrived from the Tampa Bay Rays and signed a five-year contract in exchange for $136.5 million.

And finally Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who will make his MLB debut after his successful career in Nippon Professional Baseball with the Orix Buffaloes. He penned a 12-year, $325 million dollar contract.

With only three players, the Blue Crew committed the enormous amount of $1,161 million dollars and they haven’t finished yet - there could still be more additions to the squad before the 12 January deadline.
