The 2025 World Series is about to begin, as the Toronto Blue Jays prepare to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in pursuit of the coveted Commissioner’s Trophy. The first two games will be played at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The Series opens in Canada after the Blue Jays finished the regular season with a 94–68 record, edging out the Dodgers, who went 93–69. Following the two games in Toronto, the action shifts to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4 on October 27 and 28, respectively, with Game 5 (if necessary) scheduled for October 29. Should the Series extend further, Games 6 and 7 will return to Toronto. All games are set to begin at 8 p.m. ET.

The Dodgers reached this stage after sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series. They have already announced their first two starting pitchers for the World Series: left-hander Blake Snell will take the mound in Game 1, followed by Japanese star right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2. Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani are expected to start the following games.
Ohtani was dominant in his most recent start, striking out 10 over more than six scoreless innings against the Brewers. In the same game, he also hit three home runs—a performance widely regarded as one of the most impressive in MLB history.

Will he continue to add to his legacy this #WorldSeries? 👀 pic.twitter.com/zjuHpqhuuf
This marks Shohei Ohtani’s first World Series appearance. Last season, he was inactive as a pitcher while recovering from Tommy John surgery after leaving the Los Angeles Angels, though he appeared as a hitter in the 2024 World Series, going 2-for-19.
During the 2025 regular season, Ohtani became the first player ever to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single year. If that weren’t enough, he also became the first player since 2001 to surpass 400 total bases, finishing with 411. He set career highs in RBIs (130), hits (197), doubles (38), and runs scored (134)—a testament to one of the greatest individual seasons in modern baseball.
